ENTERTAINMENT

DJ Chippy Nonstop
Chippy is a DJ, rapper, songwriter, writer, producer, activist, and organizer of community events. She is of Indian descent, but is more of a cultural nomad; she was born in Dubai, grew up in Zambia, has citizenship in Canada, lived in Los Angeles, Oakland, and New York, and currently resides in Toronto after a very public deportation. Chippy Nonstop is currently working on new music-related endeavors including a project called Intersessions, a sound initiative curated by and for women and the LGBTQ+ community. She is also DJing, recording, and has recently released two tracks: ‘Bubble Up’ dropped on Thump, while ‘Lotto’ with UK producer Nightwave (Fool’s Gold) premiered on The Fader.

TUSH
Powered by Kamilah Apong and Jamie Kidd, TUSH is a Toronto band that has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the city’s best live dance acts. More grit than glam, their music searches for the rawness, vulnerability, and intimacy of the dancefloor experience. As a bassist, DJ, producer, and co-founder of renowned event promoter Box of Kittens, Kidd has made his mark on the scene in both Toronto and Berlin. Apong, who spent her formative years in the band Unbuttoned, came across a Craigslist ad for a live disco project searching for a vocalist.

Sean Caff
What started as playing an eighth grade party for his friends with a double-cassette deck, has turned into a profession of DJing across the globe. Sean Caff mixes a wide variety of genres, from classics to contemporary.

Jude Kelly
DJ Jude provides a funky soundtrack, specializing in soul, funk and disco classics, Brazilian, house, and nu jazz grooves, including genre-pollinating remixes for the dancefloor. He is also the former music editor for Chill magazine, and has produced documentaries for CBC Radio including Future Jazz, Soul on the Streets, the Nu Groove, and the Archie Alleyne Story.

U of T Jazz Stars of the Future
Featuring students of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music.
